The Living Word

John 1:1-5 (NKJV)
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was in the beginning with God.  All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.  And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
In the song Take Me To The King, sung by Tamela Mann, the psalmist powerfully cries out regarding the very real ups and downs and pain we experience in this journey called "real life".  She goes on to declare that we need a Word from the Lord, for only a Word from God, a Living Word is able to heal, deliver and set free.
Truth is it’s time to stop playing these games,We need a word for the peoples pain.  So Lord speak right now, let it fall like rain, We’re desperate, we’re chasing after you.
Our scripture text today, bears witness to the fact that God already sent His Word, a Living Word.  The Word came into the world over 2000 years ago, to dispel the darkness, to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor. [Luke 4:18-19 (NIV)].

This season remember there is indeed a King, whose throne room you can enter any time by faith, and receive a Word for your every situation, a Word that indeed is able to dispel the darkness and confusion, and set every wounded heart free.

To God Be The Glory

The weeks of Advent remind us to set aside some time during the holiday season to reflect on our faith. The Bible readings we will read echo the Advent themes of waiting, preparation, hope, and the coming of the promised Messiah.
